River Falls, Wisconsin – Interfacial Solutions LLC, a leading provider of innovative material science technologies and services to the plastics industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Rod Alire as Research Fellow effective immediately. Mr. Alire was most recently Chief Scientist for FP International, a global manufacturing company engaged in innovative polymeric foam and film products. In this position, Mr. Alire oversaw research and development for the company. His insights into polymer material science and formulation technologies led to the introduction of over 35 new products generating significant revenues for FP International. During his time at FP International, Mr. Alire held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility including the position of Director of Process Engineering. Mr. Alire has significant experience in the design and implementation of new process equipment, integration of emerging technologies, and stabilization and optimization of numerous manufacturing processes. Mr. Alire is well versed in the primary and secondary polymer processing, process control, mechanical process equipment design, extruder screw and die design; as well as, the formulation of a wide range of petrochemical based and bio-based polymeric materials. He received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The University of California at Davis, and holds four U.S. Patents.
